Sheridan County Visitors Promotion Committee Meeting
Tuesday, May 30, 2017
The Sheridan County Visitors Promotion Committee will meet at Antlers Motel Rushville, NE at 5:00 PM Tuesday, May 30, 2017 The meeting will be open to the public. The agenda for the meeting will be continuously updated and available for inspection at the Generations in Volunteer Efforts (GIVE) office at the Courthouse Annex, 111 N Main St., Rushville, NE. during normal business hours. Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be altered later than twenty-four hours before the scheduled commencement of the meeting.

POSITION OPENING - SHERIDAN COUNTY ASSESSOR
	The Sheridan County, Nebraska Board of Commissioners is taking applications to fill a vacancy for the position of Sheridan County Assessor to complete the current term of office which runs through December 31, 2018.  

	The appointed County Assessor shall have all duties as prescribed by Nebraska law including the general supervision over and direction of the assessment of all property in his or her county.  The appointed County Assessor shall also be required to perform other duties such as annually revising real property assessments for correction of errors, the setoff or apportionment of transferred parcels, or parts thereof, of real estate for just and equitable apportionment, obey all rules and regulations made under Chapter 77 and the instructions and orders sent out by the Nebraska Tax Commissioner and the Tax Equalization and Review Commission as prescribed by Nebraska law, prepare all assessment rules as defined in Neb.Rev.Stat. §77-129 and 77-1303, and corrections to omitted property as required.  The County Assessor shall also manage the County Assessor's office including all full and part time deputies and staff members.  

Required Qualifications

	All applicants are required to hold a County Assessor Certificate issued pursuant to Neb.Rev.Stat. §77-422.  Applicants need not be a resident at the time of application, but once appointed, the appointed Sheridan County Assessor shall reside in Sheridan County, Nebraska.

	This is an elected position and should the appointee desire to continue in the position, he or she would be required to file for and run for office in the next election cycle for the term of office beginning January 1, 2019.

Applications

	Persons interested shall submit a cover letter, resume and list of references to the Sheridan County Clerk, P.O. Box 39, Rushville, Nebraska 69360.  Applications shall be received on or before June 14, 2017.  Applications received after that date will not be considered.
