Board of Equalization Minutes - Monday, September 24, 2018

The Sheridan County Board of Equalization met in regular session at 9 A.M. in the Commissioners Office, Courthouse. All members present. Paul stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk.

Krotz made a motion to accept the agenda. Andersen seconded the motion. All voted aye.

County Assessor Tina Skinner met with the board to hold two protest hearings. Kevin Lang Pl#810081822 Lot 7 Block 26 OT Gordon. Not present. Andersen made a motion to make no change as evidence presented doesn't justify a change. Land $3,080 Buildings $40,941 Total $44,021. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.

Tony Taylor Pl#810081962 Lots 9 & 10 Block 27 OT Gordon. Present. Andersen made a motion to make changes based on evidence presented. Land $5,700 Buildings $38,930 Total $44,630. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.

Skinner presented the board with several correction sheets. Andersen made a motion to make corrections on transposed numbers on waste acres for Debra Michael. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.

The board reviewed letters from Dorothy Schroeder and Sara Johnson requesting refunds on property taxes paid. No action was taken.

Andersen made a motion to accept the states action to deny a Homestead Exemption for Gerald Denton. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
