The Sheridan County Commissioners meet in regular session at 9:15 A.M. in the Commissioners Office, Courthouse. All members present. Paul stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk. Andersen made a motion to accept the agenda. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye. Krotz made a motion to approve the minutes of 6-18-2018. Andersen seconded the motion. All voted aye. The board signed salary checks. The board reviewed a sub-division request for a parcel of less than 10 acres. Andersen made a motion to approve Resolution 2018-11 authorizing a sub-division of rural parcel of land in Farm Unit #71 for Eugene Vejraska. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call all voted aye. Road Superintendent asked for executive session to discuss personnel. Krotz made a motion at 9:30 A.M. to go into closed session necessary for the purpose of preventing needless injury to the reputation of an employee. Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye. At 9:40 A.M. Andersen made a motion to come out of closed session. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye. No action taken. Nebraska Department of Agriculture representative Jeff Lampmann and Weed Superintendent Kristi Paul appeared before the board to present the report on the State's evaluation of the Sheridan County Noxious Weed Program. The department scored 3,400 points out of a possible of 3,400 points for 2017. UNL Extension Educator Jack Arterburn reported on recent activities in the county. Summer Grazing Tour, hosted by the Kadlecek's Flying Heart Ranch and Terrell Farms/Ranch was attended by 130 people. Sheriff Robbins met with the board and requested a closed session for possible litigation. Krotz made a motion to go into closed session at 10:40 A.M. necessary for the protection of the public interest to discuss pending litigation. Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye. At 10:50 A.M. Andersen made a motion to come out of closed session. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye. No action taken.
