Commissioners Minutes - Monday, February 26, 2018

The Sheridan County Commissioners met in regular session at 9 A.M. in the Commissioners Office, Courthouse. All members present. Paul stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk. Krotz made a motion to accept the agenda. Andersen seconded the motion. All voted aye. Krotz made a motion to approve the minutes of 2-20-2018 with corrections. Andersen seconded the motion. All voted aye. The board signed salary checks. Barb Retzlaff met with the board to ask them to consider purchasing a new lawn mower for use at the Annex building. The board recommended she work with Kuester and get several proposals and report back. Kuester visited with the board about reclassification of his employee at the Lakeside shop. With the location it is hard to find employees to work in the southern end of the county and with the reclassification from full time to permanent part-time he will keep his employee. The board approved the reclassification. Leala Jimerson of the Extension Office asked for the board to declare a desk surplus that is no longer needed. Jimerson informed the board that the school nurse is in need of a desk and felt that this one would work. Andersen made a motion to declare the desk surplus. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye. Mike Walters, representing the Gordon Rural Fire District, appeared to discuss the need for a ballot measure for the District to exceed the levy limit. The board reviewed the proposed ballot measure and agreed that it did need to go to the vote of the people. Darryl Crown of Air Methods-Black Hills Life Flight met with the board to request the boards endorsement of a proposed group plan to be made available to all Sheridan County residents. The board agreed to take the matter under consideration and asked Crown to meet with them again in March. County Assessor, Tina Skinner and Consultant Susan Lore met with the board and gave an update on the continuing work being done in the Assessorís Office. Adjourn: 12:45 P.M. Attest: Sindy L.
